Over & Under the Rhine Tour
Guided tour of historic Findlay Market—learn Cincinnati history.
This guided tour takes families on a two-hour journey through Cincinnati's historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, exploring both its celebrated landmarks and hidden underground history. You'll walk to notable sites like Findlay Market, Music Hall, and Washington Park, then hop aboard the Connector streetcar to visit the former Miami-Erie Canal location. The adventure also ventures below ground to discover remnants of the city's brewing past, including Lafayette Brewery's pre-Prohibition lagering facility and the remains of Cincinnati's abandoned subway system beneath Central Parkway.
The highlight for many visitors is descending into Gerke Brewery's 1850s fermentation and cold-storage cellars to see where beer was historically produced and stored. The tour wraps up at a local taproom where a beverage—beer or soft drink—is included. At $39 per person, this is best suited for kids old enough to handle a walking tour with some stairs involved. Note that accessing the brewery cellar requires climbing steep steps, so families with very young children or anyone uncomfortable with stairs can opt to stay above ground instead.
