Material Play Session IV: Exploratory Weaving

Your family is invited to a hands-on weaving workshop at Tide Pool, led by local textile artist Emma Jackson. This two-hour session introduces the basics of weaving using a homemade loom and upcycled or unconventional materials—think yarn, thread, string, and whatever else sparks your creativity. Participants will create their own one-of-a-kind textile piece to take home, whether decorative or functional. The workshop welcomes all ages and is designed to be playful and exploratory rather than strictly instructional. The event takes place at Tide Pool, which also houses the Indigo Hippo Hamilton location. You'll also learn about Tide Pool's mission as a newer nonprofit in the community. Free parking is available, and doors open at 12:50 PM to give families time to settle in before the session begins.
