First Friday Tours at the Great Circle with Brad Lepper
Expert-led archaeology tour of Ohio's Great Circle on First Friday.
Explore one of Ohio's most significant archaeological sites with a knowledgeable guide. Senior World Heritage Archaeologist Brad Lepper leads monthly tours through the Great Circle, part of the Newark Earthworks—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the roughly one-hour tour, you'll discover the remarkable features that make this ancient site worthy of world recognition and learn how it connects Indigenous peoples, local residents, and historical figures across North America.
These tours are completely free and happen rain or shine on the first Friday of each month from March through November. Arrive at 11 a.m. and meet your group at the bronze map on the museum patio. While admission is free, donations are welcome to support education and public programs at the site. This is a great outing for families curious about Ohio's rich history and Indigenous heritage.
